Valerie's love for painting, since the age of five, has spawned a career of more than 20 years across brand-building and integrated creative solutions for major brands such as Zespri, Caltex, Hewlett-Packard, Procter & Gamble, Singapore Airlines, HSBC, Burger King, VISA, Singapore Tourism Board, Changi Airport, Central Provident Fund, Shell, GSK, Cycle & Carriage, Friesland Campina and many others.
Known as one of APAC’s top creatives, she joined McCann Worldgroup as Chief Creative Officer, Southeast Asia, in May 2023 and expanded her remit to cover Asia Pacific in August 2023.
Previously the Director of Creative Shop, SEA & Emerging Markets at Meta, Valerie is responsible for creative product across the region, as the network continues in its mission to be the irrefutable leader in the business of creativity. She also Chairs McCann Worldgroup’s APAC Creative Leadership Community.
Valerie has judged and been awarded at all major shows including Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show, New York Festival, Effies, Spikes Asia and AdFest.

She was concurrently General Manager at iProspect, the group's performance marketing arm. She previously held planning leadership positions with international remits at Edelman Digital Singapore, Wunderman Singapore and McCann Shanghai. Originally from Manila, she was charged with setting up the strategy team for McCann/MRM Philippines.

I was the Sales and Marketing Director of The Philippine Star and had a short stint in WarnerMedia running adsales and partnerships for HBO and Cartoon Network.
At present, I am the Head of Mobile Advertising for Smart Communications, Inc. I manage and grow ancillary revenues coming from Smart's telco and digital inventories. I also oversee Smart's opt-in program for marketing and promotions with a primary objective of growing customers that are opted-in to Smart's data privacy consent platform for internal and external campaign promotions. I am also involved in securing partnerships for Smart's Go-To-Market (GTM) subs management team for subscriber retention and acquisition activations.
This year, I serve as President of The Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) with a concurrent role as Chairman of the Ad Standards Council (ASC).
I love to run to try to stay fit.
I travel with my family a lot.
I plan to slow down when I am 50 so I can travel and explore the world even more.

Throughout her career, she honed her client management skills by working with the best creative hothouses and strategic shops like JWT, BBDO, TBWA and Leo Burnett. She helped win numerous local and international awards and accolades, including the Philippines’ first and second Gold Cannes Lion during her first stint at JWT Manila.
A fearless industry figure, Golda plays an active role in local marketing communications by occupying key positions in the 4As Philippines and Ad Standards Council. Under her steadfast and caring leadership, J. Walter Thompson delivered significant growth and healthier bottomlines year on year. In 2022, WT won Best in Industry Leadership and Community Service which featured work done for the country’s vaccination confidence campaign “Ingat Angat Bakuna Lahat” and Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines’ ”Safe Space Now: Right the Ride” campaign that focused on addressing sexism and misogyny in public spaces. The Right the Ride campaign also won the Lotus Roots award at the AdFest in 2022. Lotus Roots recognizes work that preserve and celebrate the rich heritage and value of each local culture. In 2024, WT and VMLYR unified as VML, with Golda at the helm. As VML Manila, her team's work for KitKat called "Punctuation Breaks" won metals in Spikes Asia. The same campaign won a Gold in LIA and Silver in One Asia at the start of 2024. In May 2024, VML Manila won the 4As Philippines Creative Guild Agency of the Year award.
Aside from taking the reins for the agency’s business development, Golda takes full responsibility in driving thought leadership efforts of VML — notably “Filipina Forward”, the country’s most comprehensive study on the modern Filipina as they set out to smash traditional notions and move forward in life.

RJ is a consistent creative competitor from various young creative competitions. He won the CRYSTAL award at the Ad Stars New Stars Young Creative Competition 2020, besting over 200 entries from 26 countries. He was also one of the 9 Filipino creatives handpicked by the London International Awards to undergo a creative mentorship program in 2022. I was the Sales and Marketing Director of The Philippine Star and had a short stint in WarnerMedia running adsales and partnerships for HBO and Cartoon Network.
At present, I am the Head of Mobile Advertising for Smart Communications, Inc. I manage and grow ancillary revenues coming from Smart's telco and digital inventories. I also oversee Smart's opt-in program for marketing and promotions with a primary objective of growing customers that are opted-in to Smart's data privacy consent platform for internal and external campaign promotions.
